Today we are announcing that GoInstant has agreed to be acquired by salesforce.com, the enterprise cloud computing leader. We are beyond excited to join this family.
When we started GoInstant in early 2010, we set out to transform web browsing from a solitary task to a shared experience. Our vision was to develop technology that allows companies to create unique, personalized customer experiences through real-time collaboration. And today, we have developed a service that changes the way businesses and consumers engage across the social web.
Since the beginning, GoInstant has had many incredible champions and supporters. Many have understood our vision for shared web experiences and have been essential to the growth of our company, but few have understood our vision as quickly and as thoroughly as salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff. It is his dedication to the future of our technology and the incredible organization he has built to support it that convinced us to take this bold step with them.
Joining the enterprise cloud computing leader will allow us to accelerate our mission. Not only will we continue to advance our technology, but with salesforce.com’s support, we will be able to super charge our ability to deliver a truly amazing way for companies to engage and interact with consumers in real time. We will have more resources, and be able to reach more customers, faster.
In fact, Parker Harris, co-founder and EVP of technology for salesforce.com said, “The GoInstant team has built incredibly sophisticated technology. We will help them scale and grow so that social enterprises everywhere can engage with and delight customers in totally new ways.”
Since our public launch we have worked with our customers and partners to further improve our products. First and foremost we want to thank each of you: The level of engagement and investment by our early beta customers has been a critical factor in the development of GoInstant and we hope to continue to repay that dedication. We will continue to advance our core technologies and pursue our vision of a shared web experience at salesforce.com.
We have a lot in store for the future and are more excited than ever to share it with you. Stay tuned for more details!
